Over the weekend it was my privilege to perform the Queen Symphony as a chorus member with the Cuesta Master Chorale & the SLO Wind Orchestra in our glorious PAC. With 176 singers, 55 orchestra members and our conductors, there were over 220 people on stage and we performed to sell-out audiences both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon! When I say there was a wall of sound enveloping the audience, I am not kidding! It was thrilling!!
In addition to the Queen Symphony, this concert marked 30 years of Master Chorale’s performances of the great choral works of the last 400 years and recognized Tom & Susan Davies for their role in bringing these masterpieces to life. Additionally, the entire event was a fundraiser for Rotary International’s Polio Plus effort. It was a success on all counts! This event truly symbolized what the PAC best represents – a place where our community can come together to share noble, inspirational moments that make us all better citizens of our community and our world.
This is why I have spent the past nine years promoting the financial stability and underpinnings of our marvelous space. If you were there Saturday or Sunday you know exactly what I mean, and if you weren’t, I hope you will take advantage of other future opportunities to connect on a deeply communal level.
